Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, alongside Minister of State for Youth Affairs, has introduced a pivotal measure aimed at bolstering transparency and accountability within entities under the ministry's purview. This strategic move involves the establishment of a dedicated committee tasked with investigating suspicions of money laundering across various sectors supervised by the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday, Minister Al-Huwailah underscored the committee's role in fortifying oversight mechanisms to ensure utmost integrity. This initiative encourages citizens to actively report any potential cases of money laundering within the ministry's domains, thereby enhancing financial and economic security and reinforcing Kuwait's stance as a leader in anti-corruption efforts and transparency promotion.

The newly formed committee will play a crucial role in combating financial crimes, safeguarding the national economy from money laundering risks. It is entrusted with receiving reports, conducting thorough investigations, and referring cases to the Public Prosecution when necessary. Comprising members from various regulatory bodies specializing in anti-corruption and oversight of public funds, the committee signifies a proactive step in achieving the ministry's objectives.

Minister Al-Huwailah emphasized the committee's formation as a significant milestone in the ministry's continuous pursuit of its vision and goals. It aims to deliver exemplary services and foster trust between citizens and governmental institutions, aligning with directives from the political leadership on combating corruption comprehensively.

The minister urged individuals with information regarding suspected corruption or money laundering within the ministry's framework to come forward. Reports can be submitted confidentially to the management of councils and committees at the Ministries Complex (Block 17).
