Interior Ministry Officials Strategize Security Campaigns As Amnesty Period Nears End

27 June 2024 Kuwait

Top officials from the Interior Ministry convened to discuss various strategies for upcoming security campaigns targeting residency violators as the amnesty period concludes on June 30.

The meeting, chaired by Assistant Undersecretary for Special Forces Affairs and Head of Field Campaigns Maj. Gen. Abdullah Al-Mulla, was attended by senior officers.

The Interior Ministry had initially granted an amnesty from March 17 to June 17, which was subsequently extended to June 30. This amnesty allows violators to either leave the country without any penalties, retaining the right to return on a new visa, or to settle their violations by paying fines and legalizing their stay.

The meeting reviewed the mechanism for conducting security campaigns across all governorates targeting violators who did not leave the country or legalize their stay during the amnesty period.
