Indian Student Found Dead In London After Going Missing

Police divers in Canary Wharf, east London, discovered the body of Gurashman Singh Bhatia, an Indian student reported missing after a night out with friends on Thursday, December 14. According to the United Kingdom’s Metropolitan Police, they are now appealing for information to piece together Bhatia’s last movements.

Police scanned CCTV videos, spoke with witnesses, analyzed phone and financial data, and found the body of the 23-year-old after conducting "extensive enquiries."

An underwater search was also conducted in the area, and police divers recovered what they believed was the body of Bhatia.

It has been determined that Gurashman's death is not suspicious, but we will ensure that our investigation is as thorough as possible to confirm it," said Detective Chief Superintendent (DCI) James Conway, who is in charge of local policing in the Tower Hamlets area of Canary Wharf.
