In Two Months, 600 Motorcycle Driving Licenses Were Issued

Within two months, 600 motorcycle permits were given out to "delivery" service providers. According to a local Arabic newspaper quoting Colonel Sheikh Nawaf Ahmed Al-Nawaf, Acting Director of the Education and Testing Department at the Hawalli Traffic Department, this figure would rise throughout the winter season. The testing division coordinated their efforts so that weekly motorcycle driving tests would be held on Mondays and Thursdays. Authorities also designated a specific location for testing motorcycles, which was adjacent to the locations used for testing public and construction vehicles but far from the private car testing areas. The test is administered in two shifts: in the morning from 8 to 12 and in the afternoon from 12:30 to 4 pm.

The requirements for earning a delivery bike driver's certificate have been lowered in complexity. The applicant must be at least 18 years old, and no particular educational achievements are required. He has to check his eyes, obviously. Due to the fact that approximately 600 bicycle driving licenses were issued in less than two months, hundreds of restaurant owners and owners of delivery services have filed for licenses for staff members.
