In Ramadan, 14 Million Muslims Pray At Prophet's Mosque In Medina
During Ramadan, the Prophet's mosque in Medina has attracted more than 14 million worshippers who have attended prayers, according to local media.
Additionally, over 944,355 people have visited and worshiped at Al Rawdah Al Sharifa.
In an interview with Abdullaziz Bin Ali Al Ayoubi, Adviser and Deputy General President for Executive and Field Affairs at the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, he said that more visitors and worshipers came to the Prophet's Mosque in recent years, and they were able to perform their religious duties in safety thanks to the efforts made by all the helping agencies.
Al Ayoubi noted that the agencies worked 24 hours a day during Ramadan, particularly in the last ten days of the holy month.
Furthermore, al Ayoubi pointed out that the agencies worked on preparing all the details related to operation, maintenance, grouping, crowd control, carpets, disinfection, and all services provided at the Prophet's Mosque to men and women.
The first 20 days of Ramadan have seen over 4 million pilgrims perform umrah. To ensure the safety and comfort of pilgrims and worshipers at the Grand Mosque, the Tafweej and Crowds Management Department and the participating parties have joined efforts.
In accordance with precautionary measures, more than 4,200,000 pilgrims were facilitated entry into the Grand Mosque during the holy month, according to Undersecretary-General for Tafweej and Crowds Management, Osama Al Hujaili.
Despite this visitor influx, the health minister of the Kingdom confirmed that no epidemic outbreaks or diseases have been reported.
In addition to providing preventive, curative and ambulatory services through hospitals and primary health care centers, minister Fahd Al Jalajil said that the ministry remains committed to providing health care for umrah attendees.
