Icai Kuwait Chapter Donates Kd 2,500 To Kuwait Red Crescent Society
In the light of the huge humanitarian crisis globally caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, Kuwait has been affected too. Recent reports suggest that about 250,000 expatriates have either lost their jobs or have been without salaries since March.
In view of this unprecedented calamity, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) Kuwait chapter felt it was its moral obligation to come forward and shoulder some of this responsibility. The chapter decided to contribute an amount of KD 2,500 to Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) to show solidarity towards their humanitarian efforts in Kuwait which are remarkable. This amount will enable KRCS to provide bulk food packets for 250 individuals containing staples like rice, lentils, oil, spices, tuna tins etc. enough to last for 7-10 days.
Kuwait Red Crescent Society is the local equivalent of the Red Cross.
Furthermore, the ICAI Kuwait Chapter has contributed INR 250,000 to ICAI COVID Relief fund which in turn contributes to Prime Minister’s National Relief fund. The association are aware of the crisis India faces, especially with the migrant and daily wage workers and have made the contribution where they know it is going to the people in desperate need.
