How Can Indians Register For Repatriation?
Indians in Kuwait who wish to return to their home country after travel restrictions are lifted can now register with the government of India and send their requests at this site.
The Indian Embassy has launched a registration portal online. Due to social distancing measures authorities have urged expats to use online methods and avoid visiting the consulate or embassy personally.
Indians who have lost their job, are stranded visitors or need to return to India for medical emergencies can register.
Here is the step-by-step process.
1. Visit the link mentioned here: https://indembkwt.com/eva/
2. Enter details including your passport number, visa status, home address in India, and profession.
3. Also mention the Indian airport that you would like to travel to. You would also need to mention if you have gotten a COVID-19 test done, and if so, what the result was.
4. You would also need to select the airport that is closest to your home address in India.
5. You would also need to select a compelling reason for the repatriation request. The applicant can select one of the following options:
a. Medical emergencv (self)
b. Medical emergency (family member)
c. Death of family member
d. Stranded tourist/visitor
e. Deportation
f. Loss of employment
g. Expiry of visa
h. Stranded student
4. You would then need to enter a verification code at the end, similar to a CAPTCHA code, to ensure that the form has been filled by a person.
5. Once you click submit, you will get the following message — ‘Thank you for registering with us’. If you do not get such a message, you would need to refill the form.
While filling in this form does not guarantee a seat on a flight back home, this database will help Indian authorities plan out the repatriation process for the tens of thousands of Indians wanting to return home.
I have already registered for NORKA. Do I need to register again?
People would need to register on the new portal even if they had already registered within the NORKA database for expatriate Keralites.
The Embassy’s COVID-19 helpline numbers (Sunday to Saturday) are Tel: 00965 – 6697 6128 (8 am to 3 pm) and 67678505(3 pm to 10 pm) and 22519532(in case of emergency). Email : pol1.kuwait@mea.gov.in.
