Expats On Any Type Of Visa Outside Kuwait For Longer Than Six Months Will Lose Their Kuwaiti Residency

​The residency of the foreigner who has exceeded six months outside the country starting from August 1, 2022, will be automatically canceled, Ministry of Interior announced in a new circular.

According to the circular, the residency of a foreigner who holds a residency in the country in accordance with Articles 17-19-22-23-24 will be cancelled automatically starting from February 1st 2023 if they are outside the country for more than six month.

For those expatriates, who are on article 18, for them the six month rule is already applicable starting from November 1st 2022.

According to the new circular, this is applicable to all other category of visa and the six month will be counted from August 1st.
