The UAE was ranked first among Arab and Gulf nations, followed by the Sultanate of Oman, in the index of the best places for expatriates for the current year, while Kuwait lagged behind the Gulf nations and the global ranking.

The Sultanate of Oman placed second in the Arab world and Gulf and 12th globally in the index, which includes 52 countries, according to a report from the German Internations network, which specializes in tracking the lives of expatriates outside of their home countries. The UAE was ranked first regionally and sixth globally in the list of the best countries to live in, as well as being among the top 10 places for expatriates to work. Bahrain came in third place among Arab and Gulf nations, followed by Qatar in fourth place, Saudi Arabia in fifth, and Kuwait, which dropped to last place overall.

12,000 respondents from all around the world participated in the study, which covered topics including how satisfied ex-pats are with their quality of life overall, how simple it is to move to and find a job overseas, and how much money they make in their home country, and more. Additionally, ex-pats particularly valued their financial resources, particularly in terms of the costs and standards of housing, food, and medical care.
