Expats Above 60 Without A Degree Can Transfer Residency To The Private Sector

According to Public Authority for Manpower Director of Public Relations and Media Department Aseel Al-Mazyad, expatriates without a university degree and above 60 years of age can now transfer their residence to the private sector. There will still be a 250 kd annual insurance fee.

This new amendment is effective from Wednesday, according to the Authority. This amendment allows expats who work for government agencies and departments, those on dependent visas, and those who are investors or partners in commercial or industrial activities to switch their residence permits to the private sector. In accordance with the new amendment to the residence law, expats over 60 who have self-sponsored residency may also transfer their residence to the private sector.
