Egypt Reopens Airspace For Flights With Qatar

12 January 2021 Information

Sources from the aviation sector and official media said today that Egypt has allowed the reopening of airspace for flights with Qatar and the resumption of flights between the two countries.

Sources from the Civil Aviation Authority and the Ministry of Aviation stated that air transport agreements that allow Egyptian and Qatari airlines to organize flights to transport passengers and goods between the two countries will be activated, and that the implementation requires some time to obtain the necessary permits to operate.

Al-Ahram Gate quoted the head of the Civil Aviation Authority, Ashraf Noyer, as saying that with this decision, “EgyptAir and Qatar Airways as well as Qatari airlines have the right to resume air traffic and send flight operating schedules to the Egyptian and Qatari civil aviation authorities for approval.”
