Court Extends Detention Of 8 Defendants In Al-Manqaf Fire Tragedy

In a pivotal decision, the judge overseeing the detention renewals has extended the custody of eight defendants in the Al-Manqaf building fire case. Among them are one citizen, three Indians, and four Egyptians, who face charges related to murder, accidental injury, and negligence following the tragic incident that resulted in the deaths of 49 individuals and left others injured.

The Public Prosecution has initiated its investigative procedures into the devastating fire, dispatching a specialized team to examine the site of the incident and visit those hospitalized due to injuries sustained. Concurrently, the General Department of Criminal Evidence and Forensic Medicine has been tasked with conducting essential forensic examinations as part of the ongoing investigation.
