Eng. Falah Al-Subaie, Director of the Water Filling Stations Department at the Ministry of Electricity and Water, unveiled innovative measures to harness wasted fresh water at filling stations. He highlighted that the ministry has saved the state 600 thousand dinars by implementing recycling methods for water that would otherwise be wasted during tank filling.
In an interview with a local daily, Al-Subaie emphasized the adoption of recycling practices at stations not connected to the Ministry of Public Works. This initiative repurposes water for landscaping near stations and along road right-of-ways, a novel approach now integrated at multiple locations, including the newly inaugurated Amghara station.
The Amghara station exemplifies this approach with automated systems that channel wasted water into reservoirs for reuse. This recycled water is then utilized for ornamental agriculture, contributing positively to environmental conservation efforts.
Al-Subaie praised the ministry’s efforts in supplying fresh water to citizens across various regions, especially new urban developments. He highlighted the ministry’s commitment to modernizing filling stations with advanced technologies aimed at minimizing water wastage. Additionally, he noted significant savings achieved by utilizing wasted water for roadside agricultural purposes, thereby reducing the need for costly water transportation contracts.
He commended station personnel for their dedicated service in ensuring water supply to residents, whether in residential areas or other sectors, underscoring their pivotal role in the ministry’s water management strategies.
