Cost Of Hiring Domestic Workers Increased From Kd750 To Kd1,200

The cost of hiring domestic workers from abroad through domestic labor recruitment offices has increased remarkably from KD750 to KD1,200, reports Al- Jarida daily quoting sources.

Sources said the cost of turning over domestic workers to their sponsors reached KD1,500; attributing the recent increase to the lack of knowledge of a ministerial decision obligating domestic labor recruitment offices to define the cost.

Sources added one of the reasons behind the recent increase in the cost of hiring domestic workers is that a number of countries like Ethiopia and Nepal stopped sending domestic workers to Kuwait
