Chinese Corona Vaccine Will Be Available By End Of 2020

The president of the China National Pharmaceutical Industries announced that the emerging corona virus vaccine will be commercially available by the end of this year.

Liu Jing Chen told the Communist Party of China newspaper that the vaccine may reach 1,000 yuan (140 dollars), and it will be given in two doses, with an interval of 28 days between them.

"Students and workers in big cities will need to get the vaccine, but people who live in sparsely populated rural areas may not need it now," Chen added.

He added: "We are able to produce 220 million doses of the new Corona vaccine per year."

The Chinese move comes days after Russia announced a vaccine against the new Corona virus, which causes the Covid-19 epidemic, according to media reports that China has granted a patent for a new anti-virus vaccine that has infected more than 21 million and caused the death of more than 775 thousand others.

The official Chinese media, citing documents from the Intellectual Property Regulatory Authority in China, said that the "Cansino Biology" company had obtained approval from Beijing for a patent for the AD5-NCOV vaccine against Covid-19.

The official People's Daily said on Sunday that this is the first patent granted by China for a vaccine against the Covid-19 epidemic, according to Reuters.

The newspaper quoted documents published by the National Intellectual Property Administration of China as saying that the patent was issued on August 11th.
