Biometrics Entry Procedures For Expats On Arrival In Kuwait

According to Al-Anba daily, the Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) now requires other Gulf nationals to undergo biometric fingerprinting as a first step to be allowed entry, in case they didn't do so before traveling.

Expatriates are required to undergo fingerprinting based on the number of flights arriving at the airport, according to the source, which indicates that officials will determine whether it is possible to fingerprint passengers within a certain number of hours based on the number of arrival flights. He said the concerned passengers are asked to wait, and if there is a large number of arrivals, they are allowed to leave. He disclosed some airlines require expatriates and Gulf nationals to be fingerprinted, affirming all entry points are equipped with fingerprint devices and the procedure is completed within a minute for each person.

Kuwaitis from abroad are not required to undergo fingerprinting yet, but are encouraged to make an appointment and use the biometric centers in the governorates and malls for this purpose. Public safety officials remind the public that fingerprinting is not required outside the country, but it is required once they return.
