Air Bridge To Palestinians Launched By Kuwait
The Kuwaiti Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, announced Sunday the launch of relief operations through the 'Air Bridge to Palestinians in Gaza Strip'. In an interview with KUNA, Sheikh Salem explained that the initiative is based on the demands of the Palestinian people as well as on the directions of HH Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, HH Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and HH Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
Kuwait is extending its unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, and trying to alleviate suffering caused by the Israeli occupation. As of Monday, the Kuwaiti Air Bridge has been providing humanitarian relief planeloads of urgent supplies and medical necessities to the Gaza Strip via the Al-Arish area in the Sinai Peninsula. Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Kuwait Relief Society, and other humanitarian organizations contribute to the initiative, which is overseen by the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Defense, Air Force, and Health.
Anwar Al-Hasawi, Vice President of Kuwait Red Crescent Society, revealed that a plane with 40 tons of medical supplies, relief supplies, and food supplies, provided by Kuwait Red Crescent Society and other charitable organizations, is expected to take off today, along with three ambulances, one of which is provided by Kuwait Red Crescent Society. Al-Hasawi also revealed that another plane will take off Tuesday carrying 10 tons of medical and relief supplies. According to him, the society will continue to provide aid within the air bridge as directed by the political leadership.
