A Half-billion Dinars Owed To The Country By Expatriates

In a bid to address the pressing issue of outstanding debts, fines, and service fees owed by foreigners to the state of Kuwait, significant measures have been set in motion. Local Arabic newspaper Al-Rai has reported that the cumulative amount of these outstanding financial obligations totals an astounding half a billion dinars. This decision was reached following a series of high-level meetings involving key ministries, government agencies, and concerned authorities. The thorough assessment revealed that the total amount owed by foreigners to the state stands at approximately half a billion dinars.

Government Leadership and Enforcement:

Government Departments Involved:
Presently, four government entities have been designated to collect the due amounts from foreigners before they depart. Halting Defaulting Expatriates:
Over the course of the year, a substantial number of expatriates have left Kuwait without settling their financial obligations, resulting in defaults exceeding 3 billion dinars. The newly implemented mechanism is designed to put an end to this practice. Expatriates will now be required to clear all pending dues before being allowed to leave the country. This stringent enforcement ensures that expatriates fulfill their financial responsibilities to the state of Kuwait.
