83,000 Expats Left The Country Permanently In The Last Three Months

A recent report on the labour market in the third quarter of 2020 revealed that about 83,574 residents left the country permanently during the period from September to December 2020, Arabic newspaper Al-Qabas reported. According to the report, the total number of residents in the labour market decreased to 1.5 million workers.

The total number of expatriates employed in government agencies constitutes less than 29% of the government sector's total registered workers. In that 65% are in the Ministries of Education and Ministry of Health as teachers and medical staff. The total number in this category also witnessed a decrease. The report pointed out a remarkable increase in Kuwaitis' number in all business sectors to 4,248.

The domestic worker's sector witnessed a decrease in domestic workers within three months by about 7385 domestic workers, while 382 men entered this sector.
