27.9% Decrease In Electricity Revenues In 2020

The latest statistics issued by the Ministry of Electricity and Water revealed a decrease in revenues from selling electric power in 2020, which was the lowest during the last three years, as its revenues amounted to 14,245,5074 dinars, a decrease of 27.9 percent from the previous year.

The statistic, a copy of which was obtained by the newspaper, indicated that the Ministry of Electricity and Water’s revenues from energy sales in 2019 were in excess of the previous year 2018, as the Ministry’s revenues from energy sales amounted to 1,7641,790 dinars in 2019, an increase of 29.7 percent over the previous year.

It indicated that its revenue from selling energy to consumers in 2018 amounted to 15,238,1105 dinars, an increase of 40.3 percent over the previous year.

Sources in the “Electricity” confirmed that the ministry was keen during the current year 2021 to develop several different means to facilitate the process of collecting their dues from consumers easily and smoothly through many mechanisms and programs that facilitate the ministry and the consumer to collect and pay their dues.
