22,000 Traffic Citations Issued In Latest Crackdown, 98 Vehicles Seized
As a result of instructions from the Director of the General Traffic Department, Major General Yousef Al-Khadda, to intensify traffic patrols in all governorates and arrest outlaws, officers of the General Traffic Department issued 22,000 traffic citations, seized 98 vehicles, and dealt with 1,818 traffic accidents, including 187 serious accidents.
In the General Traffic Department's weekly statistics, 22,678 traffic citations were issued, 135 vehicles and 11 motorcycles were impounded, 34 people were referred to traffic police, 98 judicially wanted vehicles were seized, 22 juveniles were referred to juvenile prosecution, and 19 violations of residency law were caught. Also, 24 arrests were made and two people were seized in an abnormal condition.
Several security sources confirmed that traffic campaigns will continue in all governorates to control traffic and discourage reckless driving.
