17 November 2021 Kuwait

The State Security police have compiled a list of 100 residents who will not be allowed to renew their residence permits in Kuwait.

Al-Qabas daily said a vast majority of these are Lebanese and the rest are Iranians, Yemenis, Syrians, Iraqis, Pakistanis, Afghanis, Bangladeshis and Egyptians and they have no option but to leave the country with their families when their residence permits expire. The sources stressed the security Kuwait is a red line and no person can breach.

The sources explained some of the Lebanese are suspected of being first or second degree relatives of Hezbollah, while others who make the list are found guilty of committing serious crimes such as money laundering or involved sensitive issues, or simply termed ‘undesirable to live in the country in public interest’.

The sources pointed out that the State Security Apparatus is working to protect the country’s internal front and said clear instructions have been issued by the higher leadership not to tolerate or respond to pressures from ‘intermediaries’, whoever they may be
