Zubaidi Fishing Season Begins Tomorrow
The Public Authority for Agriculture Affairs and Fish Resources announced the start of the Zubaidi fishing season, starting tomorrow, Friday, July 16, 2021, in Kuwaiti territorial waters, after the 45-day ban on fishing ended.
The official spokesman of the authority, Talal Al-Daihani, said that the announcement comes in implementation of Resolution No. 788 of 2017 regarding fishing Zubaidi fish in Kuwaiti territorial waters.
Al-Daihani added that the decision to prevent seasonal fishing takes place during specific time periods of the year, and its goal is to protect the fish stock and give the Zubaidi fish the opportunity and sufficient time to reproduce and develop the stock, calling for the need to preserve the fish wealth, which is one of the most important resources in the State of Kuwait and one of the most important national wealth in order to Securing food security and the sustainability of fish resources, in addition to being a strong pillar of the national economy.
Al-Daihani stressed that in the event of a violation or any transgression in the fishing laws, the necessary legal measures will be taken as stipulated in Law No. 46 of 1980 to protect fisheries wealth.
