Work On Shaikh Jaber Al-ahmad Al-sabah Causeway On Track
The giant Shaikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah causeway is on track to meet the deadline.
The massive mMain Causeway (main link), which links Shuwaikh Port to the Subiyah New Town, is expected to be complete on November 3, 2018, said project director Mai Al-Misaid.
In a statement to Al-Qabas newspaper, she said that more than 5380 employees are sparing no efforts to complete the construction of the remaining core components, including asphalting.
The total length of the main Shaikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah is 36km - of which 27km is a marine bridge structure.
The milestone is one of the largest infrastructure projects to be constructed in the GCC region with an estimated construction value of approximately USD 3 billion.
The causeway will provide new strategic highway routes to facilitate planned development to the north of Kuwait City.
The construction of the causeway included the creation of two artificial islands, two marinas as well as motorway interchanges and a visitor centre with panoramic views over the port of Shuwaikh.
Design by SYSTRA on behalf of the on behalf of the consortium set up with Hyundai and CGCC the Subiyah Causeway in Kuwait is considered the world’s largest maritime causeway.
