Women Pilgrims Spark Controversy For Smoking Inside Grand Mosque
Video of an elderly female umrah pilgrim smoking in the Grand Mosque in Mecca has gone viral after a video was shared on social media showing her lighting up a cigarette.
She lights a cigarette with a match stick in the video.
Afterwards, a female mosque staffer approached the old woman, who seemed unaware of the gravity of her actions. The woman was seen holding hands with the female staff member, trying to take her with her.
So far, no official statement has been made regarding what happened to the old woman.
In light of the sanctity of the site, which is one of the holiest places for Muslims, the video has sparked anger on social media.
