Wireless Planes Will No Longer Be Allowed To Fly - Moi
Wireless planes with built-in cameras will no longer be allowed to fly over personal properties, the Ministry of Interior's (MoI) Undersecretary Sulaiman Al-Fahad said on Monday.
Al-Fahad urged closer cooperation with security apparatuses to protect the privacy of homes and other personal properties, saying that this constitutes an integral part of security obligations.
Moreover, he revealed that wireless planes with cameras attached to them have hovered over houses, military edifices and other sensitive locations, which is strictly prohibited.
On those found complicit in such unlawful activities, he said they face either incarceration for a period of three years, or a maximum fine of KD 3,000.
The MoI's Undersecretary also stressed the need to get the ministry's consent before operating these planes that are typically seen in weddings and other joyous occasions.
He also highlighted the fact that these planes have recently been used for illicit activities. Speaking on these wireless planes, Al-Fahad noted that they represent an encroachment of personal privacy and a flagrant violation of state laws, warning that security forces reserve the right to down all planes spotted without the proper permit by any means possible.Â
