Visa Holders For Umrah Can Travel Across Saudi Arabia

20 April 2022 Hajj And Umrah

During their stay in Saudi Arabia, overseas Muslims with visas enabling them to perform umrah or lesser pilgrimage are allowed to travel throughout the country.

Local media reported that the stay duration for those arriving with Umrah visas is 30 days.

Umrah pilgrims are free to travel between Holy Mecca and Madina and throughout the entire kingdom during their stay, according to the ministry.

The Saudi authorities have recently loosened restrictions against the COVID-19, allowing for more umrahs to be performed.

In addition to lifting several precautionary measures, Hajj and Umrah has lifted the cancellation of permits to visit the Prophet's Mohammed Mosque in Medina and pray at the Grand Mosque in Mecca.

The Ministry has also announced that all worshippers no longer need to submit to immunization checks in order to enter both sites.

Further, the ministry has no longer required overseas Muslims to register their immunization data in order to get an umrah permit.

Access to both sacred places is now possible without presenting a negative PCR test result as well.

COVID-19 infection rates in Saudi Arabia have decreased steadily in recent weeks.
