Unskilled Expats Will Be Reduced By Moi
Population demographic issues must be prioritized by the Ministry of Interior in accordance with government agendas in order to reduce the number of unskilled expats.
Iqama violators will be detained in areas dominated by expats in more frequent inspection campaigns. Those who obtain permits in violation of the regulations will also be caught, as the law will be sent to the National Assembly, which will play an active role.
"The interior minister told PAM permits should not be granted to anyone except those who need them. It is likely that many permits will not be renewed this year if the labor market doesn't require their jobs," the sources said. He has previously spoken to a number of MPs about iqamas and clarified that the government will work on imposing fees on businessmen who bring in workers. According to sources, the fees will be studied to ensure that they are legal and constitutional.
