Three Kuwaitis Among Six To Get Their Assets Frozen

Public Prosecutor Saad Al-Safran recently issued a directive to freeze the assets of three Kuwaitis, two Qataris, an Egyptian and three companies involved in Public Funds Embezzlement Case No. 19/2018. Al-Safran took this decision after the presentation of the case, completion of investigations; as well as the review of penal laws and their amendments, criminal procedures and trials and their amendments, protection of public funds, and combating money laundering and financing terrorism. The decision stipulates freezing the accounts of the defendants in local and foreign banks operating in the State of Kuwait or will be deposited therein in the future, as well as the securities deposited in these accounts, investment funds, investment portfolios and entities licensed by the Capital Markets Authority or will be deposited therein in the future.
