Mangaf Fire Accident - Death Toll Crossed 35

The tragic fire at a labor camp in the Al-Mangaf area has resulted in a devastating death toll exceeding 35, with 15 individuals hospitalized, four of whom have succumbed to their injuries. Major General Eid Al-Owaihan, Director General of the Forensic Department, provided these figures. Preliminary statistics from Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Gharib, Director of Public Relations in the General Fire Force, indicate numerous fatalities and injuries.

The fire broke out in a densely populated workers' residence at 4:30 am and was quickly controlled by the fire department. Many fatalities were due to smoke inhalation while residents were sleeping. Numerous occupants were successfully evacuated.

Authorities are managing the aftermath, with multiple fire stations involved and hospitals treating the injured. The Ministry of Health is providing comprehensive medical care to 43 individuals with varying degrees of injuries. The affected have been distributed as follows:

  • Al-Adan Hospital: 21 cases
  • Al-Farwaniyah Hospital: 6 cases
  • Al-Amiri Hospital: 1 case
  • Mubarak Hospital: 11 cases
  • Jaber Hospital: 4 cases

Medical teams are offering immediate and intensive care, closely monitoring the injured, and coordinating with hospitals and relevant authorities to ensure all needs are met. Specialized teams are providing psychological and moral support to the victims and their families.

Key officials, including the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, along with the Governors of Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Ahmadi, are present at the Mangaf fire site. Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef has ordered the detention of the company official and the building guard at the Criminal Department for further investigation.
