There Are No Crises At Knpc's Gas Stations
During the weekends, private-sector gas stations are overcrowded, according to one of the companies, which claim that the overcrowding is due to a manpower shortage.
Meanwhile, according to an informed source, the local company has asked the Kuwait National Petroleum Company to approve an additional tariff on services provided at the stations to consumers, which could range between 150 and 200 fils for each filling, but the KNPC is said to have stressed the importance of adhering to the Ministry of Finance's set tariff for a litre of gasoline, and that another tariff for services is a matter related to the relationship of companies with each other.
The source stated that certain companies are having employment issues, which are their own concern, and that the gasoline companies linked with the KNPC are running at full capacity with no defects in their operations.
The First Domestic Fuel Marketing Company apologized to its consumers for the partial closure of several stations owing to a labour shortage, which resulted in a service lag.
The company is working around the clock to remedy the problem, according to the sources, and will convert some stations to self-service, with a commitment to give service to the elderly and individuals with special requirements, and thanked consumers for their patience.
