Starting next week, a commission from the Ministry of Public Works will examine bids for the construction, completion, and maintenance of package No. 3 of the new passenger terminal building at Kuwait International Airport, which includes aircraft hangars, runways, and service buildings.
According to informed sources in the ministry, the committee, chaired by Abdulmohsen Al-Enezi, assistant undersecretary for the major projects sector, will consider the lowest-priced bids if they fit the tender's terms. Before selecting a company to carry out the operation, the study work is estimated to take one and a half to two months.
According to sources, the start of the third package coincides with the completion of the first and second packages of the main building and annexes, as well as the project's roads and services, which are all on schedule.
The third package project is notable for being located between the eastern and western runways, extending from Building 2, and consists of aircraft hangars, corridors linked to the current runways, air service roads, service tunnels associated with Building 2, a power station, a building Food supplies, support building, and pedestrian bridges on an estimated area of 3.210 million square meters.
The project aims to increase the capacity of Kuwait International Airport to 25 million passengers per year, making it the region's newest regional hub. It will do so by combining cutting-edge aviation technology with the highest environmental standards to provide travelers with high levels of comfort and distinguished service.
