The Ministry Of Education Introduces 7 Requirements For Adult Education Jobs
For both male and female teachers seeking jobs at adult education and literacy centers during the evening shifts, the Ministry of Education has set forth seven essential criteria. It is important that applicants have received an excellent rating in the last two years, as well as being a member of the same educational district and teaching stage.
According to a Ministry bulletin directed at educational districts and schools, teachers cannot leave or be exempted from their duties without the Superintendent of Adult Education and Illiteracy Eradication's written approval once the assignment decision has been issued. Exemptions will only be considered for circumstances deemed essential and in alignment with the interest of the work. Teachers are also required to participate in scheduled examinations throughout the school year, and apologies will not be accepted.
The bulletin also discussed the importance of teachers working in adult education centers during the evening period, stating that any violation may result in legal consequences. It explicitly stated that a teacher, male or female, cannot be assigned to work in more than one location simultaneously. Ultimately, the Director of the Department and the Superintendent of Adult Education and Literacy Eradication will select teachers taking into account the work's interests.
According to an educational source, there has been a surge in demand from Kuwaiti teachers for evening shifts since bonuses were increased for adult education and literacy centers. A bonus of 15 dinars has been approved for secondary teachers and 12 dinars for intermediate teachers, with one dinar per session.
According to the source, Kuwaiti teachers comprise approximately 80 percent of the workforce in these centers. However, there are specific specializations, such as science and English, where non-Kuwaiti teachers are utilized. The source noted that dozens of non-Kuwaiti teachers are currently on the waiting list across all educational regions.
At the end of this month, the Ministry's Department of Coordination and Follow-up of Public Education will open the door to internal and external transfers of members of educational bodies. The registration for transfer requests will continue until March 30, 2024, covering positions like school principal, assistant school principal, technical supervisor, department head, technical supervisor, teacher, and science lecturer. After this date, requests will not be accepted.
