Stables In Jahra, Farwaniya And Kabad Have Been Transformed Into Garbage
The stables in Jahra, Farwaniya and Kabad have been transformed into garbage disposal areas due to the absence of the concerned authorities.
Environmental observers confirmed that foul odor and garbage are scattered throughout the stables along with continuous sewer leakage, while the concerned authorities have yet to move a finger.
The stables have become unsuitable for animals due to failure to maintain cleanliness. Amid this bad environmental situation, there are warehouses and storages for restaurants, houses for bachelors and a center for youth gatherings.
Observers confirmed that the Environment Public Authority (EPA) is absent amid these violations for unknown reasons, despite the frequent complaints by citizens stating environmental negligence has become chronic for many years, pointing out that neglect and lack of control aggravated the problems.
Observers explain the waste materials stay in one place for a period ranging from four to eight months and thrown in various parts without anyone taking the responsibility to remove or dispose them properly.
This is in addition to throwing tyres, while some people burn tyres which emit black smoke with harmful gases. The daily contacted an official at EPA to inquire about the bad situation in the stables area, but he did not respond.
A group of citizens were surprised and stressed when they made complaints as each side claims that the other is responsible. “EPA blames Kuwait Municipality or the Ministry of Public Works. We no longer know where we should go,” the citizens lamented.
