Soon, A Second Radar System Will Be Installed

As part of the second phase of the installation of the Kuwaiti coastal radar system, a delegation from the General Directorate of the Coast Guard, led by the Director General of the General Directorate of the Coast Guard, Rear Admiral Talal Al-Mounis, visited the General Directorate of Coast and Border Security in Qatar to see the Qatari coastal radar system.

Al-Jarida daily reports that the second phase will be installed this year.

Security sources have informed us that the second radar system will cover all Kuwaiti territorial waters, including Kuwait Bay, which is currently not covered by the current radar system.

According to the sources, the second radar system is considered very advanced in several aspects, including surveillance cameras and sensors that can detect marine targets, as well as the target tracking system that is highly efficient.

Several sources stated that the second radar system is intended to protect Kuwaiti territorial waters from smuggling, piracy, and illegal fishing operations, such as when some types of fish are prohibited or prohibited fishing equipment is used.
