Services Terminated By The Minister Of Social Affairs

Al-Qabas daily reports that Minister of Social Affairs Mai Al-Baghli has terminated Assistant Undersecretary for the Cooperative Sector Ahmad Al-Enezi and assigned his tasks to Assistant Undersecretary for Social Development Salem Al-Rashidi. Considering the untoward incidents at the Naseem Cooperative Society election, which forced the election to be postponed, Al-Baghli's decision is in the public's interest.

In cooperation with its counterpart in the interior, the ministry has devised a new system for supervising and organizing cooperative elections to prevent recurrences. In order to reform the cooperative sector, certain decisions are expected to be taken in the coming days.

Abdulaziz Al-Mutairi, Assistant Undersecretary for Planning and Administrative Development, confirmed that the automated system is now ready to be implemented, particularly for monitoring and conducting general assemblies and elections in cooperative societies. Al-Mutairi explained the system prevents duplication of addresses and holding shares in more than one cooperative in a recent television interview. Another system that allows cooperatives to conduct elections electronically is ready for launch, pending approval from the Cooperative Sector.
