Security Plan To Arrest 18,000 Residency Law Violators In Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh

The concerned authorities are currently preparing a comprehensive security plan to arrest around 18,000 Residency Law violators in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, reports Al-Qabas daily quoting a reliable source from the security sector. The source pointed out that the Ministry of Interior has been exerting tremendous efforts to put an end to random and illegal activities in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, but it is impossible to address the problem with such efforts alone; hence, the need for concerted efforts by all concerned authorities. According to recent statistics from the Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI), the total number of people residing in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh has reached 268,601 expatriates including 46,000 women; and that 100,000 bachelor expatriates are residing in the area.

The source revealed that the security plan is being prepared in coordination with the concerned authorities with the aim of eliminating violations in the area, strictly enforcing the law, maintaining security, and rehabilitating the area. He stated that this is in compliance with the directive of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousuf Al-Sabah; indicating that the plan will be implemented through the coordinated efforts of several institutions including the Kuwait Army, National Guard, Kuwait Fire Force, Ministry of Health and Kuwait Municipality. It is worth mentioning that the Council of Ministers discussed the situation in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh in September 2023; specifically the conditions of buildings, traffic and security.
