Security And Guard Workers To Be Cut As Part Of Demographic Restructuring

The Minister of Social Affairs, Minister of State for Economic Affairs, Maryam Al-Aqeel announced a 25 percent reduction in the incoming security and guard workers in the new tender, which was presented by the Ministry of Affairs, Al Qabas reports.

In response to a query, Al-Aqeel said, “We would like to state that, in implementation of the Cabinet’s directives to amend the demographics and reduce the proportion of expatriate workers, the ministry has issued a new tender to use modern technology to reduce the number of workers at the Security and Guard Company, with the reduced rate of 25 percent in the new tender.”

She added: “The number of employees in the Security and Guard Company for the past five years is 865. Note that the reduction in the number of workers is linked to the needs of the ministry and the expansion of modern buildings, where the ministry is entitled, according to the terms of the contract, to reduce them according to the public interest and without discussing with the company.”
