Saudi Arabia Approved Vaccination Certificate In 3 Minutes, Kuwait Not Even In 25 Days

08 August 2021 Kuwait

The CEO of Prepline Holding Company, Essa Behbehani, who runs a chain of restaurants, talked about the changes in the business sector and activities despite extending the open hours, Al-Rai daily reported.

Behbehani gave the daily an example of a problem when one of his female employees was unable to travel from America to Kuwait for a period of 25 days as the vaccination certificate was not approved. She succeeded in adopting the vaccination certificate and obtaining a travel visa to Saudi Arabia within only 3 minutes.

Behbehani said that the employee was in USA and she uploaded the documents after receiving the vaccine through the platform of the Ministry of Health last July 12, while the date of her trip to return to Kuwait was Friday, August 6, that is, after 25 days, considering that this period is sufficient for the vaccination certificate to be approved.

He added that until August 6, the vaccination certificate was not approved and the data was updated in the immune application, and while the time was five in the afternoon Miami time, he asked the employee to go to the airport as a precaution, five hours before the flight time, as there may be a change in the procedures, as they did not receive a response from any official, but unfortunately she was prevented from boarding the plane because the certificate of receiving the vaccine was not registered.

“Failure to approve the vaccination certificate through the Ministry of Health platform prevented her entry to Kuwait,” Behbehani says.

What is the solution?” He answers, “The solution was to change the destination but to where? To be a country close to Kuwait,” noting that “he found a flight to Riyadh via Qatar Airways after 3 hours.

Regarding the procedures, Behbehani explained that he entered the website (Visit SAUDI) and all the procedures were clear and easy without any complications, and the requests are the same as Kuwait.

But Behbehani pointed out the difference in the procedures was the amount of time taken:

Visa application was submitted at  6:26

Reply with approval came at 6:28.

Registration of the vaccination certificates and the PCR examination at 6:57.

Reply with a credit came at 6:57

He expressed his hope that  Kuwait will benefit from the closest countries to Kuwait concerning the clarity of procedures, ease of obtaining information, and speed in completion, stressing that all procedures were carried out electronically without the need for anyone to confirm or take information, as well as equality in procedures as there is no difference between a citizen, a Gulf citizen, a resident or a visitor.

He pointed out that the economic situation has become very pressured on business owners, as they are unable to hire new workers from the local market in Kuwait because they are basically non-existent, and they cannot bring in new workers from abroad either, calling for facilitating the procedures for returning stuck workers abroad who hold valid residencies in Kuwait, and has completed the implementation of health requirements, but due to complex procedures, are stuck abroad.
