Rheumatic Disease Clinic For Pregnant Women
As part of a collaboration between Dr. Fatima Baron, a consultant rheumatologist, and Dr. Ibrahim Tawfik, a consultant obstetrician and gynecologist, Dr. Bashayer Al-Fadhli, a consultant in internal medicine and maternity medicine, confirmed that a clinic for pregnant women suffering from rheumatism has been opened inside Jahra Hospital.
According to a local Arabic newspaper, Dr. Al-Fadhli says the center closely monitors women with this disease to ensure that they are able to give birth safely in a safe environment and reduce the time and effort they have to put into their pregnancy.
In addition to providing pre-conception counseling to rheumatology patients on how to select and adjust safe medications during pregnancy, internal medicine and rheumatology consultants examine rheumatic pregnant women during childbirth at the same time.
Kuwait has the only branch of internal disease medicine offered by Dr. Al-Fadhli. He said this is a new specialty of internal diseases.
As a result of the physician's announcement, there will be a plan to coordinate work with the obstetrics department in the future to equip other clinics for high-risk pregnant women with diseases of the blood and glands, as well as other diseases.
