An African expatriate was arrested at the Kuwait International Airport for attempting to smuggle 38 plastic bags of betel leaves (Qat) into the country. Customs officers suspected the passenger after noticing his nervousness as he approached the inspection desk. They checked his luggage to find 38 plastic bags of betel leaves inside. He was arrested and referred with the betel leaves to the General Department of Drug Control for necessary legal action.
