Kuwait's Minister of Health, Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi, said Kuwait is committed to improving healthcare services for Kuwaitis and expats. It is the goal of the Ministry of Health to host specialized medical conferences, enhance cooperation, and exchange experiences among specialists in order to improve methods for preventing and treating diseases of all kinds. Dr. Abdullah Al-Faras, Assistant Undersecretary for Allied Medical Services Affairs, delivered this speech yesterday afternoon at the opening of the 45th Kuwait Conference on Ear, Nose, and Throat Surgery on behalf of Dr. Al-Awadhi.

“The conference was attended by a high-level group of specialized doctors from around the world, which enhanced maximum benefit in the scientific and medical fields, as well as enhanced cooperation to discuss matters of common interest.” According to Al-Awadhi, all this aims to improve medical performance and the quality of medical care provided to patients. As he explained, the annual ENT Conference included discussions on micro-surgical ear surgeries, cochlear implants, diagnosis and surgery of snoring, and sleep apnea.

On the sidelines of the conference, some complex cases were discussed and operations were conducted. With the international talents and visitors, there was an exchange of experiences. Al-Awadhi stressed the Ministry of Health's interest in following up on the topics discussed at the conference, as well as following up on the recommendations reached by participants and researchers, so they can be implemented on the ground until they become effective, thereby supporting and enhancing Kuwait's health system, of which we are all proud. The conference was also chaired by Dr. Zain and Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Center Director, Chairman of Cochlear Implant Committee, Chairman of ENT Council, and Chairman of the Conference. As Mutlaq Al-Sayhan stressed, the country's health system is constantly being improved through the equipping, training, and development of distinguished surgeons capable of providing the best medical care.

During his speech, Dr. Al-Sayhan said, "The conference brings together the world's leading pioneers, experts, and specialists.". We are confident that their participation will provide a great deal of added value to the conference. Among the pioneering countries in providing advanced medical services, Kuwait was and continues to be a pioneer in hosting scientific and medical conferences as part of its continuous effort to develop its health system. According to its wise leadership, health care is an integral component of building a modern, developed state as a whole. As part of the conference, communities will be made aware of the latest developments in ear, nose, throat, head, and neck surgery, as well as other fields related to this field, in order to increase dissemination of knowledge and to expand and develop the range of services provided in our society. This session of the conference features lectures, live performances, and training workshops for doctors, trainees at the Kuwaiti Board, and audiologists and speech-language pathologists."
