Proposal To Hold Classes On Television
In view of the government’s decision to close all educational institutions from 1 March to 14 March, parliamentarian Hamdan Al-Azmi has proposed that Kuwait TV, in coordination with the ministries of information and education, should broadcast lessons for different educational stages. He added that lecturers and professors at Kuwait University and PAAET could upload their lectures on social media in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education.
In another proposal, the lawmaker called on the ministry of health to set up health clinics in various public institutions for the daily checkup of employees.
Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim has decided to cancel the special session of parliament scheduled for Monday to hold discussion on the COVID-19 infection. The move came following criticism from several lawmakers who said the special session would detract from the tremendous efforts being exerted by the government, especially the Ministry of Health. Parliamentarians pointed out that the focus should now be on ensuring zero corona-related deaths and on strictly enforcing regulations on the entry of people from countries where the infection has spread.
