Projects Related To Oil And Gas Experience Significant Delays
Over the past two years, several oil and gas projects in the country have been delayed substantially. According to the MEED magazine. Two tenders offered by Kuwait Oil Company have been postponed by the Central Agency for Public Tenders. We have extended until June 28 the deadline for soliciting bids for the installation of flow lines in the West Kuwait area. We have also extended our deadline from June 5 to June 26 for soliciting bids for maintenance and operational support services for production facilities there.
Kuwaiti oil and gas projects worth $320 million were in the main contract bid stage, and $350 million were in the bid evaluation stage, according to an Arabic daily.
The Kuwaiti Oil Company offered many pipeline projects in 2020 and 2021, its values often ranging from 50 to 250 million dollars each.
According to MEED, Kuwait has made great progress on many contracts for small projects, but its most ambitious projects have suffered severe delays, and only a few large projects are being undertaken.
According to MEED, Kuwait is about to approve a budget for expanding two waste water treatment stations.
One source told her that the project is expected to be launched in October or November of this year, and that it is expected to be worth more than 200 million dinars, while another said it would be of significant importance for Kuwait Oil.
The project involves expanding existing facilities called EWDP-1 and EWDP-2. Kuwait City is about 20 kilometers south of "EWDP-1" and about 40 kilometers south of "EWDP-2".
According to MEED, KOC has been concerned with the disposal of oil-produced water for at least two decades.
The water content of oil produced in the Burgan oil field, the world's second largest, has increased successively. Dedicated injection wells are used to dispose of much of the wastewater.
