Plans Ongoing To Repatriate Sri Lankan And Nepali Citizens From Kuwait

Sri Lanka has refused to make arrangements to receive its nationals from Kuwait, and diplomatic sources confirmed that negotiations are ongoing with officials to work towards evacuating Sri Lankan workers from the country in light of the health crisis in Kuwait due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus, reported Al Qabas daily.

In a related development, Nepal recently agreed to receive its nationals present in Kuwait after a senior government official contacted officials in Kuwait. The daily reported that Nepalese authorities informed its Kuwaiti counterpart that instructions would be given to its ambassador to prepare travel documents for its citizens.
