Plan Is Under Way To Increase Some Retirees' Pensions
In order to increase the pensions of retirees whose monthly pensions fall below 700 dinars, the government is currently working to increase their pensions. This initiative aims to raise the monthly pension of each of these retirees to 1,000 dinars.
Additionally, reliable sources told Al-Qabas daily that ongoing efforts are being made to ensure fairness for retirees and utilize their experience, including in cases where they can contribute to the development of various regions in Kuwait.
Government-parliamentary cooperation has been discussed with the Priorities Committee of the National Assembly, according to sources. During a recent government-parliament coordination committee meeting, it was revealed there is, in principle, consensus between the government and parliament on 18 priorities.
According to the sources, the government is open to approving a substantial portion of these priorities during the upcoming session. Certain priorities may, however, require a more cautious approach and more comprehensive studies, potentially delaying their approval.
One of the priorities, the strategic alternative, may require an extended approval period, due to its intricacies and the need for in-depth examinations by relevant government authorities. As a result of continuous coordination among these authorities, this issue is being addressed.
