Phew! … Life Back In Malls

28 July 2021 Kuwait

Commercial complexes, restaurants and cafés breathed a sigh of relief as they regained momentum Tuesday — the first day of implementing the Cabinet’s decision to allow these establishments to operate like they used to before the coronavirus pandemic, reports Al-Qabas daily. These establishments were crowded on the first day the above-mentioned decision took effect; while the concerned authorities checked vaccination certificates thorough and only very few violations were recorded. The atmosphere was different Tuesday night as life returned to complexes amid the strict and explicit instructions not to be lenient in implementing Cabinet decisions and a commitment to prevent the unvaccinated from entering these establishments.

Securitymen from the Ministry of Interior assigned in the malls were given instructions to deal with the visitors properly; while taking extra care to ensure the unvaccinated will not enter except the pregnant women, those below 16 years old and those with health conditions that do not allow vaccination. These securitymen are working with other authorities to implement the regulations. The entry of vaccinated citizens and expatriates to major commercial complexes with an area of more than 6,000 square meters; as well as restaurants, cafés, health clubs and salons, is regulated through the ‘My Identity’ and ‘Immune’ applications. Flexibility and smooth implementation of procedures were observed at the entrances of Avenues and 360 Malls on the same day.
