Person Claimed That His Driver Offered Bribe For The Release Of His Vehicle Seized By Traffic Officers

A video clip went viral on social media in which a person claimed that his driver offered bribe to an office boy in a seized-vehicle garage for the release of his vehicle which was seized by traffic officers in Qurain area due to a traffic violation, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The General Department of Public Relations and Security Media at Ministry of Interior explained in a press release that the acting Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs, after viewing the video clip, launched investigations in this regard. The individual who posted the video was summoned to the office along with the driver so that the latter can identify the person to whom he paid the bribe. However, the man came alone and claimed that his driver was afraid to face the officers.

The management gave him another chance to bring his driver. The second time, both the man and his driver were present at the location along with the staff of the seized-vehicle garage. When questioned, the driver confessed to committing a traffic violation by blocking traffic in Qurain area and was issued a traffic citation at the site. The traffic officers seized his vehicle and told him to retrieve it from the seized-vehicle garage.
