Passengers From India May Not Be Able To Fly In Directly Even After Aug 1
Passengers flying from India will not be able to fly in directly into Kuwait even after the Kuwait International Airport opens for international traffic from Aug 1. Reliable sources confirmed that a circular issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation attributed the high rate of coronavirus infections in India to prevent direct entry from India into Kuwait.
The circular stated that passengers from India can come to Kuwait provided they resided in a third country for a period not less that 14 days prior to entering Kuwait. The ban will continue until further notice.
The decision to allow expatriates to enter Kuwait from August 1 is only valid for residents with valid residencies. No decisions have been issued to allow those expatriates who obtain visas on arrival at Kuwait International Airport or Seaports.
The Corona Emergency Committee has not informed the Ports and Residence Affairs sector of opening visas for foreigners wishing to visit Kuwait, after the decision was issued to allow residents to enter the country as of August 1.
The decision issued by the Council of Ministers includes only the entry of residents who have valid residencies, provided that they have obtained two doses of one of the approved vaccines. The sources confirmed to the daily that the decision to prevent entry to European passport holders and some other countries is still valid.
More than 400,000 residents are stranded abroad, according to available estimates, most of them will not be able to return in August, because only a few of them received two doses of the vaccine, and it is very difficult in some countries to obtain a dose of the four approved vaccines in Kuwait ( Pfizer – Oxford – Johnson – Moderna).
