Parlt Conduct New Studies On The Railway And Metro Projects

The Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PARLT) to conduct new studies on the railway and metro projects in the country.

According to local media report, the authority said the problem of overcrowding and traffic congestion is due to the steady increase in population and the creation of new cities outside the urban area.

The reasons for the overcrowding is also attributed to the increasing number of vehicles, issuing licences, changing land use to investment and trade and the weak public transport role.

The quick solutions and proposals to confront the crisis is the introduction of entrances and exits on the main roads and rapid construction of sub-expansions creation of U-turns under bridges and the conversion of traffic signals to intersections to get rid of overcrowding, report added.
